Awarding gaps remain a persistent challenge across the higher education sector, demanding context-specific and collaborative responses. This session invites educators and professional staff to explore how bespoke Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) resources can be developed to directly address the structural and pedagogical factors contributing to disparities in student outcomes.
Through a focused discussion on teaching and learning practices, we will:
- Unpack the causes and consequences of awarding gaps in different subject areas
- Explore how targeted EDI resources can disrupt inequities in curriculum, assessment, and engagement
- Reflect on how to embed and sustain these approaches within everyday teaching practice
Participants will have the opportunity to develop actionable strategies—rooted in evidence and experience—to help close awarding gaps and create more equitable learning environments.
